Dr. Ashkan Ebadi is a multidisciplinary applied data scientist with expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, deep learning, and graph analytics. He received his PhD in information systems engineering with an emphasis on AI-based decision support systems and carried out a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in health informatics at the University of Florida (UF). Dr. Ebadi is currently a senior research officer at the National Research Council (NRC) that is the government of Canada’s largest research organization. His research aims to leverage advanced analytics and machine learning to solve complex real-life problems in various domains.

2015 Thomson-Reuters Highly Cited Researcher Professor Srivastava began his university-level teaching career in 1959 itself at the age of 19 years. Currently, Professor Srivastava holds the position of a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria in Canada. He joined the faculty there in 1969 first as Associate Professor (1969-1974) and then as Full Professor (1974-2006). Professor Srivastava has held (and/or currently holding) numerous positions of Visiting Professor and Chair Professor including (for example) those at West Virginia University in U. S. A. (1967{1969), Universitye Laval in Canada (1975), and the University of Glasgow in U. K. (1975{1976), and indeed also at many other universities and research institutes in different parts of the world. Professor Srivastava has published 26 books, monographs and edited volumes, 30 book (and encyclopedia) chapters, 45 papers in international conference proceedings, and more than 1,100 scientists research journal articles on various topics of mathematical analysis and applicable mathematics. Currently, he is actively associated editorially with over 200 international scientists research journals. Professor Srivastava's over 57-year career as a university-level teacher and as a remarkably prolific researcher in many different areas of the mathematical, physical, and statistical sciences is highlighted by (among other things) the fact that he has collaborated and published joint papers with as many as 500 mathematicians, physicists, statisticians, chemists, astrophysicists, geochemists, as well as information and business management scientists, who are scattered throughout the world, thereby qualifying for his Eddoes number 2, implying that at least one of Professor Srivastava's co-authors is a co-author of the famous Hungarian mathematician, Paul Eddoes (1913-1996). Professor Srivastava's collaboration distances with other famous scientists include his Einstein number 3, von Neumann number 3, Wiles number 3, and so on.

Dr. Arthur J. Nozik is Senior Research Fellow,Emeritusat the U.S DOE National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), andResearch Professorat the University of Colorado, Boulder. Nozik has been Associate Director of a joint Los Alamos National Lab/NREL Energy Frontier Research Center for Advanced Solar Photophysics. Nozik received his BChE from Cornell University in 1959 and his PhD in Physical Chemistry from Yale University in 1967. Dr. Nozik's research interests include size quantization and hot carrier effects in semiconductor quantum dots and quantum wells, including multiple exciton generation from a single photon; the applications of unique quantum effects in nanostructures to advanced approaches for solar photon conversion to electricity and solar fuels; photogenerated carrier relaxation dynamics in various semiconductor structures; photoelectrochemistry of semiconductor-molecule interfaces; photoelectrochemical energy conversion, photocatalysis; optical, magnetic and electrical properties of solids; and Mössbauer spectroscopy. Dr. Alexander L. Kalamkarov is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada since 1993, and Director of Smart Materials Centre since 1995. Mario F. S. Ferreira was born in Ovar, Portugal. He graduated in Physics from the University of Porto, Portugal, and he received the Ph.D. degree in Physics in 1992 and the Aggregation in Physics in 2006, both from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, where he is now a Professor at the Physics Department. Between 1990 and 1991 he was at the University of Essex, UK, performing experimental work on external cavity semiconductor lasers and nonlinear optical fiber amplifiers. His research interests have been concerned with the modeling and characterization of multi-section semiconductor lasers for coherent systems, quantum well lasers, optical fiber amplifiers and lasers, soliton propagation, nanophotonics, optical sensors, polarization and nonlinear effects in optical fibers. He holds a Diploma of Architect (University of Naples 1999), an MSc (2004) and a PhD (2002) in Survey and Representation of Architecture and in the Environment from II University of Naples. He has been teaching Representation of Architecture, Drawing, Architectural Survey, Urban and Environmental Survey in Milan Polytechnic - School of Architecture; Drawing at the Engineering Faculties of Trento, of Padova and Bologna; Drawing at the Faculty of Architecture of Naples; Advanced survey at the Faculty of Architecture of Trieste and Projective and descriptive geometry at the Venice University of IUAV. He have gained a significant experience on topics related to Cultural Heritage (CH) and its transfer into modernity both as an expert in the QSN 2007-2013, ICCD Communications Area, (SIGECWEB system) for the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Cultural Activities and Tourism (MiBACT), and as a member of nineteen research teams, since 2002, (UNESCO WHC, ICOMOS-CIPA, ICOMOS-ICIP) concerning new technologies applied to CH’s Communications and Fruition and Monument Documentation. He is the Editor of 5 books on Biosensors (1. Biosensors for Direct Monitoring of Environmental Pollutants in Field, Springer, 1996, 2. His research is targeted on the fabrication of portable biosensors for in the field uses and he has authored a large number of scientific papers on the detection of environmental pollutants such as hydrazines, dioxins, insecticides, toxins, etc. His current interests also include the construction of novel chemical nanosensors that can be used for the rapid detection of environmental pollutants directly in the gas phase. Prof. D. P. Nikolelis group has recently utilized graphene and ZnO to develop chemical nanosensors based on polymer lipid films for species of clinical or food significance such as urea, uric acid, cholesterol, etc. In progress, there is the evaluation and validation of nanosensors that are based on stabilized polymerized lipid films supported on glass fiber filters using a dry spot test using optical methods of analysis (i.e., fluorescence) to detect environmental pollutants such as insecticides, plant hormones, toxins, hydrazines, etc.
