Professor Vladimir Falko

Vladimir Falâ€™ko is condensed matter theorist responsible for several advances in the theory of electronic and optical properties of atomically thin two-dimensional crystals and fundamentals of nanoelectronics. His current research interests include graphene-based electronic and optoelectronic systems and electronic and optical properties of various atomically thin two-dimensional crystals and their heterostructures. He is one of the initiators of the European Graphene Flagship Project, founder of Graphene Week Conference series and Editor-in-Chief of the IoP Journal â€˜2D Materialsâ€™. Falko is currently Director of the National Graphene Institute and Professor of Condensed Matter Theory at the University of Manchester.
Vinod Kumar Gupta

Vinod Kumar Gupta, fellow of the World Innovation Foundation (FWIF) ; FELLOW 0f royal society of chemistry( London) and fellow of National Academy of Sciences India (FNASc), obtained his Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry from the University of Roorkee (now Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee), Roorkee, India, in 1979. Since then he is working at the same institute and at present is the Head of Chemistry department. He has worked as postdoctoral fellow at University of Regensburg, Germany, in the year 1993 as an EC fellow and was DAAD visiting professor at University of Chemnitz and Freie University of Berlin in the year 2002. He received the Citation Laureate Award in 2004 and has been Chair Professor at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia since 2009. His research interests include chemical and biosensors; chiral chromatography; liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry; chemical and biochemical remediation of organic and inorganic pollutants, waste water treatment by developing low cost adsorbents and environmental chemistry. Professor Gupta is a widely travelled researcher and is member on the editorial board of many international journals. He is a highly cited researcher in the area of Ecology and Environment with more than700 papers; 68500 citations and h index=155. He has guided 43 PhD students and 10 are working currently besides supervising about 50 masters dissertation. He is an editor of the Journal- Environmental Science and Pollution Research (ESPR) published by Springer with IF 2.87. He has visited almost all countries for academic/research work.
Chithirai Pon Selvan
Dr. Chithirai Pon Selvan obtained his Bachelors in Production Engineering, Masters in Computer Aided Design and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Pon Selvan has over twenty years of experience in teaching, educational assessment, classroom management, and student relations. He has published 100+ research articles in international journals and conferences. He has been invited and honored as keynote speaker, session chair, resource person and technical committee member in various conferences in UAE, India, Thailand, Malaysia, UK, Germany & Italy. He has organized many conferences and he is in the editorial board of more than 50 international journals. His research interests are in the areas of machine design, optimization techniques and manufacturing practices, particularly non-traditional manufacturing methods. He is a well-known researcher in the field of Abrasive Waterjet Cutting Technology and has evaluated several Ph.D. theses in Mechanical Engineering from various universities. He is a member of various professional societies including SAE, ASHRAE, IMechE, ASME, ASQ and ISTE.

Between August 2012 and February 2013, Dr. Rezal also served as Acting Under Secretary of National Nanotechnology Directorate, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). He is among the team of experimentalists who tested properties of graphene for the first time in Zero Gravity (Zero G) environments.

Professor Tahar Laoui is currently a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at the University of Sharjah, UAE. He received his PhD from the University of Washington, Seattle, USA in 1990. Prof. Subir Kumar Sarkar has completed his B. Tech, M. Tech and PhD (Tech) from Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics, University of Calcutta and Post Doctoral from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), USA. He is an eminent Professor, a meticulous guide and an influential researcher with equally balanced administrative responsibilities and associated with academic bodies of thirteen institutes. He was a student of Ramkrishna Mission, Narendrapur, West Bengal. He has worked around 10 years in industry like Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) as Executive Engineer, 26 years in Universities (8 Years in IIEST and 17 Years in Jadavpur University) in different capacities. He was the Head of the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Jadavpur University during 2011-2013, coordinator of the Evening course of M. Tech in â€œVLSI Design and Microelectronics Technologyâ€ 2009 - 2013 & 2016- till date and Coordinator of IC Design & Fabrication Centre , Jadavpur University from 2016 to till date. Dr. Alexander L. Kalamkarov is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada since 1993, and Director of Smart Materials Centre since 1995. He is the inventor of the EnPro Process that deals with the sequestration of carbon dioxide and global warming reduction. He has undertaken several successful research related to CO2 cleaning in Natural Gas and subsequently two patents applications have been filed for the use of this technology. The benefits of these patents were, in addition to the environmental benefits, used in the treatment of large quantities of desalinated formation water in the oil field. Chaalal has pioneered among others the use of seawater and ammonia to reduce the effect of carbon dioxide on the environment.
