Tae-Jin Choi

Professor Tae-Jin Choi studied Plant Pathology at Seoul National University and got his Master for the study on a plant pathogenic fungus. After his master, he got the Korean Government Abroad Scholarship and went to University of California at Berkeley. He studied molecular biology of a plant Rhabdovirus for his Ph.D. and work on a plant Tospovirus for his post-doc at University of Wisconsin at Madison. Despite of his excellent experience on plant virology, he ended up with a professor position for fish virology about 25 years ago. Since then devoted himself for the research on diagnostics and prevention of fish and shrimp viruses, and have published over 80 research papers and trained over 50 master and Ph.D students including several foreign students. Although Professor Choi was happy with his fish and shrimp viruses, he always has lingering interest on plant virus. So he studied a virus infecting microalgae, a plant in water when he visited University of Nebraska at Lincoln for his sabbatical. From this experience, he decided to develop microalgae as a bioreactor for the production of recombinant proteins that can be used in aquaculture such as fish hormones and fish and shrimp vaccines, which will be his topic on IFACE 2019. In addition to scientific research in his lab, he was interested in real aquaculture filed and research section of the government. So, worked for one and half years as the Director of the Biotechnology Research Institute, at the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute, a government research institute. He is serving concurrently as the Director of research Division of Chloland, a company producing concentrated chlorella for aquaculture. He also, served as a member of several government committees on fisheries and agriculture. In summary, professor Choi is well trained in agriculture and aquaculture and devoting himself for research in the lab and practical approaches in real field.

Dr. Abdul Ibrahim is an Director of Clinical services at Allergy company, responsible for the administration, planning, provision, and evaluation of all services. Participates in the development of administrative policies and procedures relating to the Agency. Reviews and evaluates existing clinical policies and practices to determine if current methods provide the means for professional staff to carry out their responsibilities and achieve projected goals. He regularly participates in the review, analysis, and appraisal of the effectiveness of the total Agency program. Ensures plan of care is being followed and executed by professional personnel as written. Provides for growth opportunities to all staff interested and/ or show potential. Promotes/ assists staff in self-improvement. Provides leadership and management direction to professional staff. Maintains qualified professional staff to guarantee quality of care. Orientation of all new employees followed by evaluation of skills. Continually monitors employee performance and competency and ensures that employees are receiving meaningful and regular feedback on their performance. He is also an Allergy coordinator and clinical trial department research scientist at ENT and allergy specialist. He is also an Allergy coordinator and Clinical research scientist at Pinnacle ENT Associates.

Segundo Mesa Castillo. As Specialist in Neurology, he worked for 10 years in the Institute of Neurology of Havana, Cuba. He has worked in Electron Microscopic Studies on Schizophrenia for 32 years. He was awarded with the International Price of the Stanley Foundation Award Program and for the Professional Committee to work as a fellowship position in the Laboratory of the Central Nervous System Studies, National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke under Dr. Joseph Gibbs for a period of 6 months, National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, Washington D.C. USA, June 5, 1990. At present he is member of the Scientific Board of the Psychiatric Hospital of Havana and give lectures to residents in psychiatry.

Peter Hollands experienced in Stem Cell Technologist, Clinical Embryologist and Academic having trained with Nobel Laureate Prof Sir Bob Edwards FRS at Cambridge University and Bourn Hall Clinic. I have worked in biomedical teaching and research at Cambridge University, Anglia Ruskin University and Westminster University. He is very experienced in adult stem cell technology and have been the Scientific Director of 2 private cord blood banks. My PhD resulted in publications in experimental embryology which form some of the early ideas in stem cell technology. I also have expertise in Quality Management and ISO, JACIE and AABB Accreditation in the fields of stem cell technology and assisted reproduction.
