Manijeh Razeghi

Dr. Razeghi, currently serving as the Director of the Center for Quantum Devices, Northwestern University. She created the Graduate and Undergraduate Programs in Solid State Engineering (SSE) in the ECE Department at Northwestern University, a 12 .course curriculum and also supervised 50 PhD dissertations, 19 MS theses while at Northwestern. Currently supervises approximately 15 PhD students, Post-Docs, Visiting Researchers, and Faculty. Dr. Razeghi is a pioneer in the area of III-V compound semiconductors and optoelectronic devices from the deep ultraviolet to the far infrared spectral bands, including in particular InP and GaAs based semiconductors and devices, which were at the heart of the optical fiber telecommunication revolution of the late 20th Century and the rise of the information age. She is also an expert in quantum devices operating in the deep ultraviolet spectral band, with the demonstration of novel light-emitting diodes, photo detectors and focal plane arrays with world record characteristics. Based on her scientific research work, Dr. Razeghi is the author of 18 books and the author of 31 book chapters. She is the author or co-author of more than 1000 papers and has given more than 1000 invited and plenary talks. She holds 55 patents.

Kari Ullakko is Professor (tenured) and Head of the Material Physics Laboratory at LUT University. He has worked with several universities and companies in various countries and has led a number of international research teams and projects (Finland, EU and USA) and gained research funding over 23 Million euros. His discovery of the magnetic shape memory effect has created a new field of material science, engineering and technology. Ullakko´s first paper in this field has been cited over 2600 times. Ullakko has founded two high technology companies (in 1997 and 2015). Chao-Chang Arthur Chen

Professor Chao-Chang A. Chen obtained his M.S. I.E. and Ph.D. M.E. degrees from University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA in 1991 and 1994, respectively. He has established the Precision Manufacturing Laboratory (PML) in National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST) since 2001. During 2015-2018, he was appointed as the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. As a Distinguished Professor at NTUST, Dr. Chen founded the CMP Innovation Center, CIC in 2013 for global collaboration and also works as the Director of CIC since then. Moreover, he was appointed as a Visiting Researcher at Manufacturing Technology Center, TSMC, Hsinchu Taiwan to implement an advanced CMP methodology during March to July, 2015. Professor Chen’s research interests include the areas of wafer and film processing with CMP, precision molding of optical elements with micro structures, and manufacturing analysis. Professor Chen has received over 20 patents and invited as a guest editor of the Journal of Materials Processing Technology (Sep. 2003) and co-editor of the Advances in Abrasive Technology XIII, Advanced Materials Research (Sep. 2010). Professor Chen also served as the Academic Program Chair of the International Conference of Planarization/Polishing Technology (ICPT) 2008 and the Conference Chairman of ICPT 2013 and ICPT 2019. Prof. Leszek Adam Dobrzaski, DSc, PhD, MSc, Eng, M Dr HC, was born on 4th September 1947 in Gliwice, Poland, where he resides permanently. He graduated from 5th Secondary School in Gliwice in 1965. He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice on 15th March 1971, being awarded with the diploma with a distinction. He completed his PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Jan Adamczyk, a Honorary Professor of the Silesian University of Technology and then distinguished with the Award of Minister, and defended it in 1977. He completed his DSc dissertation and defended it in 1990. The President of Republic of Poland conferred to him the title of professor in 1995. He was conferred a title of Doctor Honoris Causa in 1999 at the University of Ruse in Bulgaria, again in 2007 at the Khmelnitsky National University in Khmelnitsky in Ukraine and again in 2016 at the University in Miskolc in Hungary.
