Show-An Chen is Tsing Hua honorary chair professor, the director of the Frontier Research Center on Fundamental and Applied Sciences of Matters, and the Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Polymer Research (Springer) since 1994. Professor Chen has been teaching in the National TsingHua University since 1973 and has been working since 1982 on the new generation polymer, conjugated polymers, in the aspects of molecular design/synthesis, structure-property relationship, and device fabrication/ physics. He has established “single polymer approach†system that is to integrate various functional moieties (including electroluminescence, electron/hole transport, interfacial dipole, energy level tuning, and prevention from triplet energy back transfer) into polymer as side chains for controls of electroluminescence, photovoltaic behavior, and charge injection/transport. Yunqi Liu

Yunqi Liu was graduated from Nanjing University in 1975, received a doctorate from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan in 1991. Presently, he is a Professor at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), an Academician of CAS, and a Fellow of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS). His current research interests include design and synthesis of molecular materials, including p-conjugated small molecules, polymers, and graphene, fabrication of related devices, including field-effect transistors and molecular electronics, and investigation of their electronic properties.
Changchun Wang

Professor Wang Changchun, doctoral tutor, winner of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, is currently the director of the Department of Polymer Science at Fudan University and the deputy director of the Advanced Coatings Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education.Changchun Wang has completed his PhD from polymer chemistry and physics in Fudan University, Shanghai, China. He spent one and a half years at Eastern Michigan University as visiting scientist.His research interests include the design and synthesis of various functional polymeric composite microspheres with controlled properties, which could be used for biomedical application, polymer photonic crystal films, chromatographic column fillers and so on. He is currently a professor and serves as dean of Department of Macromolecular Science of Fudan University. He has published over 250 peer-reviewed journal papers with a total citation of over 10000.
Yuning Li

Professor Yuning Li received his PhD degree from Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), Japan. He worked at National Research Council Canada (NRC), Xerox Research Centre of Canada (XRCC), and Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) at The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) in Singapore before he joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 2010. His research interests include the development of polymer materials and nanomaterials for printed electronics including organic light emitting diodes, organic thin film transistors, organic photovoltaics, chemical sensors, and batteries.

Kevin OBrien, Ph.D., is the Director of the Illinois Sustainable Technology Center and the Illinois State Water Survey. He joined ISTC in December 2013. Previously, Dr. OBrien served as president of Energy Commercialization, LLC, in the San Francisco Bay Area. A technology expert and project manager with more than 20 years of experience, OBrien was selected after an intensive nationwide search. He has managed multi-million-dollar programs related to renewable and sustainable technologies and practices in the U.S. and abroad. His international project experience includes Europe, Middle East, and Asia. Among his professional awards are R&D; Magazine’s R&D; 100 award and a Federal Laboratory Consortium Award for Technology Transfer.
Ramani Narayan

Dr. Ramani Narayan, Ph.D., is Professor of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering in the Department of Chemical Engineering & Materials Science at Michigan State University, E. Lansing, MI where he has 90 publications in leading journals to his credit, 18 patents, edited three books and one expert dossier in the area of bio-based polymeric materials. His research area encompasses engineering and design of sustainable, biobased products, biodegradable plastics and polymers, reactive extrusion polymerization and processing, studies in polymer biodegradation and composting. Dr. Narayan has major research programs with industry and serves as consultant for several companies. He is on the Board of Directors at ASTM International - a premier international standards setting organization. Dr. Narayan also chairs the committee on Environmentally Degradable Plastics and Biobased Products and the Terminology committee. He is also the technical expert for the United States on Plastics - specifically for Terminology and Biodegradable plastics. Dr. Narayan has been a Director at Northern Technologies International Corp. since November 17, 2004. Dr. Narayan also chairs the scientific committee of Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI), North America. He has testified before U.S. congressional hearings on the biodegradable and biobased plastics issues.

S.A.R. Tabatabaei-Nezhad is Professor of Petroleum Engineering at Sahand University of Technology. He is the head of Sahand Oil and Gas Research Institute and a vice-dean of Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering, Sahand University of Technology in Tabriz, Iran. He has published more than 140 technical articles and conference proceedings, and presented more than 10 workshops. He holds a BSc degree from Penn. State Univ., MSc degree from NMIMT, USA, and PhD from Heriot-Watt Univ., UK. He has served on SPE of Iran section technical committee, and is a chairperson of the SPE as well. He has received 7 honors and awards, including; the best selected research project. He has taught different courses in petroleum engineering and basic sciences for more than 25 years at SUT and other universities in Iran.

Odda Ruiz de Ballesteros is Professor of Industrial Chemistry of the University of Naples Federico II. She graduated with honors in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Naples Federico II in 1993 and received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the same University in 1996. In 1997 she won a competition for a scholarship at the University of Naples. abroad and from March 1997 to October 1997 he attended the workshops of the Institut Charles Sadron of Strasbourg (France) under the supervision of dr. Bernard Lotz. During this period he learned the main techniques of optical microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and electronic diffraction, useful for the study of the structure and morphology of the materials. From 1998 to 2000 he received a two-year scholarship for postdoctoral training activities for the "Polimeri Science and Technology" cultural area at the University of Salerno.

Takafumi Fukushima

Takafumi Fukushima received the B.S., M.S., Ph.D. degrees in Department of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering from Yokohama National University in 1998, 2000, 2003, respectively. From 2001 to 2003, he was a technical advisor at PI R&D; Corporation in Yokohama. After that, he worked at Venture Business Laboratory of Tohoku University as a postdoctoral fellow for a year. From 2004 to 2009, he was an assistant professor at Department of Bioengineering and Robotics, and from 20010 to 2014, he was an associate professor at New Industry Creation Hatchery Center (NICHe), Tohoku University. He is currently working on many aspects of 3D and biomedical system integration at Department of Bioengineering and Robotics, Tohoku University as an associate professor. He was awarded the MRS Fall Meeting Symposium E (Materials and Technologies for 3-D Integration) award in 2008, the Second Prize of the German Innovation Award/the Gottfried Wagener Prize in 2010, and the Outstanding Paper Award of the 60th Electronic Components and Technology Conference (ECTC), in 2011, and many others. He served as a chair of “Advanced interconnect†of Solid-State Devices and Materials (SSDM) 2012 and 2013, and a member of the program committee of the ECTC since 2013, and so on.

Oreste Tarallo was born in 1976 in Salerno. He graduated in Chemistry in 2000 and a PhD in Chemical Sciences in 2003. He is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Sciences of the University of Naples Federico II. His research activity is mainly focused on the study of chemical structurics and the relationships between the molecular structure and the physical properties of semicrystalline polymeric materials. Significant results have been obtained a) in the study of new crystalline forms of different stereoregular polymers, with particular attention to the co-crystalline and nanoporous forms that they are able to form; b) in the study of the relationship between microstructure of chains, polymorphism, morphology and properties of stereoregular polymers; c) in the study of composite and organic-inorganic hybrids with low environmental impact. The professor. Tarallo possesses skills in numerous structural and morphological investigation techniques, both experimental, such as differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermo-gravimetry, X-ray diffractometry, NMR and FTIR spectroscopy, optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electronics (SEM) , atomic force microscopy (AFM), both computational, such as conformational analysis, calculation of the lattice energy of crystals and calculation of structural factors.
