Simone Musso
Senior scientist at Aramco
Biography
Dr. Simone Musso (Master in Applied Chemistry at University of Torino, PhD in Physics and Nanotechnology at Politecnico di Torino) has used his expertise and creativity both in academia (Politecnico di Torino, MIT) and industry (Schlumberger, Aernos, Nitto, Aramco) to develop new nanomaterials and nanocomposites for different applications. As a Senior Scientist at Schlumberger, and then at Aramco, he nano-engineered new technical solutions for a more efficient and safe upstream petroleum industry. He has led several successful industry-academia collaborations and his expertise is well represented by over 40 peer-reviewed papers (h-index 21), numerous lectures he gave to prestigious conferences, several patents and products. Dr. Musso has been invited to become a scientific reviewer for the Kazakhstani National Center of Science and Technology, scientific advisor for Enhanced Nano Composites Inc., and he was awarded the Honorary Fellowship of the Australian Institute of High Energetic Materials.
Siva Bohm
Royal Society Industrial Fellow
Biography
I am enjoying Graphene-based products commercial applications, Product development and implementing commercial products with our multiple customers in key areas such as Protective coatings, Conductive inks, Energy storage /harvesting, Building Materials products, and Graphene composite for Automotive and Aerospace. In addition, The Royal Society Industry Fellow at Cambridge Graphene Centre: Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells can help extend the range of electric vehicles. The cost of this type of fuel cells is still a significant barrier to their deployment. The highly acidic environment inside the fuel cell stack requires the outstanding anti-corrosion resistance of graphene-based coatings on steel. The production of these coatings requires a combination of graphene synthesis and functionalization to form a homogeneous system while binding the flakes to the steel surface to give excellent adhesion. Part-time RS Industry Fellow project aim is to build jointly working with Cambridge Graphene Centre & Graphene industry- Currently developed novel water-based protective BPP coatings and optimized to meet the targets set by the US Department of Energy.
