Val Edwards-Jones is Professor of Medical Microbiology, Head of Research Development, at Manchester Metropolitan University.Her academic interests include antimicrobial resistance, alternative antimicrobial therapies and MRSA infections. Her research interests also include infectious disease, wound infection, Toxic Shock syndrome and antiseptics.
She is also a Consultant Microbiologist for Embarrassing Bodies on Channel 4.Prior to joining MMU she worked in the NHS for 19 years.
Kathleen Hefferon received her PhD in Molecular Virology at the University of Toronto. She worked as a post-doc at the Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research and later as the Director of the Human Metabolic Research Unit in the Division of Nutritional Science at Cornell University. Most recently, Kathleen has written two books on agricultural biotechnology and is currently teaching Virology at the University of Toronto.

His research interests include the discovery and development of new antiviral and antibacterial agents for ophthalmic use as well as the pathogenesis of viral and bacterial infections of the eye.
Dr Helena Rosengren is a fellow of both the Royal Australian College of General Practice and the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. With a keen interest in research she is the chair of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia research committee and has published a number of skin cancer research papers in medical journals. Passionate about teaching, Dr Rosengren is a senior lecturer at James Cook University, provides in-house extended skills training in skin cancer medicine for doctors and teaches at skin cancer workshops all over Australia. She is also helping to develop the new skin cancer guidelines for Australia due to be published in 2020.

Currently, he is Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School, Pittsburgh, USA.
Dr. Hodges has been Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics and the John Stewart Chair in Peptide Chemistry at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus, Aurora, CO, for the past 20 years. He has a broad background in synthetic peptide chemistry having trained with Dr. Bruce Merrifield at Rockefeller University, a Nobel Laureate who developed solid-phase peptide chemistry. Dr. Hodges has successfully used this technology to study the structure and function of peptides and proteins, the feasibility of developing antimicrobial peptides with specificity for Gram-negative pathogens to developing synthetic peptide vaccines to Î±-helical B-cell epitopes in Type 1 fusion proteins of emerging and re-emerging viruses. He has won many awards. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, the Vincent Du Vigneaud Award from the American Peptide Society for outstanding achievements in peptide/protein research and most recently the Bruce Merrifield Award for outstanding lifetime accomplishment in peptide research recognizing the highest level of scientific creativity in 2017.

Marianti Manggau Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy, at Faculty of Pharmacy, Hasanuddin University, grew up in Makassar Indonesia and received his Bachelor's degree from the Hasanuddin University in 1992. At that time she began to be Assistant in Biopharmacy laboratory of Pharmacy Faculty Hasanuddin University. After she obtained her Ph.D. degree from the Freie University of Berlin in 2002 in the field of Molecular Pharmacology under the supervision of Professor Monika Schaefer-Korting and Professor Burkhard Kleuser, she came back to the Faculty of Pharmacy Hasanuddin University as a lecturer, Manggau went to Ernst Moritz Arndt University in Greifswald as post doc researcher in 2008 and began her life-long researches in clinical pharmacy sciences, inter professional education and collaboration and drug discovery from plants endemic growth in South Sulawesi Province of Indonesia. Manggau was promoted as Full Professor in 2009 at Faculty of Pharmacy Hasanuddin University. In 2010 she was appointed the inaugural Distinguished Professor of Pharmacology. She has received awards from Presiden of Indonesian Republik in 2009 and 2014. Moreover, she received award from World Bank under the IMHERE Project in 2008. She received in 2018 award from Ministry of Research and Technology namely World Class Professor and went to Chung-Ang University at South Korea. At the same year she received award from DAAD Germany re invitation program for former DAAD scholar. Now she is the Head of Biochemistry Faculty of Pharmacy Hasanuddin University.

Dr. Vikas Khillan completed his MBBS, MD from UCMS, Delhi in 1999 and 2002. After working as a senior resident in GTB hospital for 3 years. He joined as a National Head, Department of Microbiology at Dr Lal path labs, New Delhi before joining Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in 2008 . At ILBS, he was instrumental in setting up of Departments of Clinical Microbiology and Infection control.
